Nataša Jonoska received a $316,700 grant from the National Science Foundation’s Foundations of Emerging Technologies program for developing computational tools for designing complex nanoscale structures to be assembled out of parts made of DNA. This will entail a higher level approach than the current approach. The project will also develop tools for verifying that the desired structure was obtained. This project is part of a general effort to use nanoscale assembly to solve computational problems.
The NSF’s FET program supports research exploring new and unconventional models of computing and other technologies. This includes biocomputing and computation with biological systems.
