From May 27th to August 1st 2025, the Center for Cryptographic Research organized the 3rd edition of the Research Experience Undergraduate (REU Site) program in cryptography, coding theory and quantum computing. This year, a cohort of 12 talented undergraduate students coming from all over the nation worked under the supervision of Jean-François Biasse, Kwan-Cheng Chen, Xiang-Dong Hou, Lukas Kölsch, Tefjol Pllaha, Razvan Teodorescu, and Dmytro Savchuk. The projects offered this year pertained to boolean functions, the Clifford hierarchy, rational functions over finite fields, group-based cryptography, and the dynamics of qubits. Activities offered during the program this year included a visit to °®¶¹´«Ã½ Connect, a picnic at Riverfront park, a day at Bush Gardens, a scientific workshop featuring over 25 invited external guests (Applied Algebra Days), and the opportunity to volunteer at a K-12 outreach event (The CodeBreakHERs).
