The Manougian STEM Education Center, under the direction of Razvan Teodorescu, received a $5,000 AMS Young Scholars Program award. The Manougian STEM Education Center resumed organizing its summer school in June 2024.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics' Nagle Lecture Series (NLS), held in honor of the late R. Kent Nagle, featured Dr. Cristopher Moore of the Santa Fe Institute, a professor specializing in the intersection of mathematics, physics, and computer science.

Academic Recognition For Math Major
Undergraduate math student Eion Mulrenin has been selected as a 2022 °®¶¹´«Ã½ Epsilon Chapter of PME Outstanding Scholar by the faculty of the °®¶¹´«Ã½ Department of Mathematics and Statistics. This annual award recognizes a math senior for excellent academic achievement and dedication to mathematics.

A Center for Cryptographic Research
Professors Jean-François Biasse and Giacomo Micheli, along with °®¶¹´«Ã½ Computer Science & Engineering professors Mehran Kermani and Attila Yavuz, have created a Center for Cryptographic Research at °®¶¹´«Ã½. It was launched with a grant from the °®¶¹´«Ã½ Strategic Investment Pool and will have a particular interest in cybersecurity. Professor Biasse has been named its first director.
