TIP begins with an intensive course on °®¶¹´«Ã½ history, issues, and politics before students relocate to Tallahassee for the 60-day legislative session. Each student is placed in the office of an elected official, professional association, or private firm that develops and researches issues addressing °®¶¹´«Ã½ state policy.

Up to ten (10) undergraduate juniors and seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.60 will be selected to participate. All majors and disciplines are welcome to apply from all three campuses.

°®¶¹´«Ã½ are responsible for paying their °®¶¹´«Ã½ tuition and fees, as well as all expenses they incur during the program (i.e., transit while in Tallahassee). A $1,500 scholarship awarded by the College of Arts & Sciences will help defray expenses during the program. Housing for TIP, and transportation to and from the state capital, will be provided by the College of Arts & Sciences. Placements are coordinated by the °®¶¹´«Ã½ Office of Government Relations.
