Our Mission

The mission of the °®¶¹´«Ã½ Policy Exchange Center on Aging is to provide timely, high-quality research and policy analysis to public officials, program administrators, and other stakeholders concerned with °®¶¹´«Ã½â€™s aging population; specifically assessing the health and well-being of older adults. As part of the School of Aging Studies at the University of South °®¶¹´«Ã½, it brings together faculty and students on projects that promote age-friendly principles, engage the community and further the research and education mission of °®¶¹´«Ã½.

  2. Lindsay Peterson, PhD, research assistant professor in the School of Aging Studies, and undergraduate students Coral Morley and Arianna Verdecia recently created a disaster preparedness website for First Contact (formerly 211 Tampa Bay Cares), with funding from the state of °®¶¹´«Ã½.

  3. Lindsay Peterson, PhD, and Debra Dobbs, PhD, of the °®¶¹´«Ã½ School of Aging Studies, collaborated with Senior Connection Center to produce a sweeping review of the needs of older adults (age 65 +) in the center’s five-county service area. The synthesis of demographic and key informant data will guide planning for this burgeoning west-central °®¶¹´«Ã½ region with nearly 600,000 older adults.
