Jerome Galea discusses mental health finance in Cape Town.

Jerome Galea, PhD, LCSW, associate professor in the School of Social Work, participated in the 7th Global Mental Health Summit in Cape Town, South Africa, held Nov. 10–12, 2025. Galea presented on "Rethinking Funding in Global Mental Health: A Call for Collaboration, Innovation and Advocacy."

The event brought together renowned experts and thought leaders from around the world to engage in critical discussions on the current state of mental health and to chart a course for the future. With a focus on addressing challenges and exploring innovative solutions, the summit serves as a catalyst for meaningful change in global mental health.
