°®¶¹´«Ã½ Engineering Graduate Certificate Programs Extended
the last few weeks have been a challenging time for Floridians and our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the recent hurricanes. To make things easier for many who were affected by the storms, the university has extended the deadline to apply for three College of Engineering graduate programs, the Pathway to Computing Graduate Certificate, the Artificial Intelligence Graduate Certificate, and the Master of Science in Data Intelligence, to Nov. 1,

NSF Grant Awarded to Dr. Yavuz of °®¶¹´«Ã½â€™s Engineering Computer Science Department for SATUQ Project
Dr. Attila A. Yavuz of °®¶¹´«Ã½â€™s Computer Science and Engineering Department has been awarded a $364,117 NSF grant to advance cybersecurity for integrated satellite-terrestrial networks. His SATUQ project focuses on quantum-resistant cryptography and decentralized security to safeguard critical infrastructure and emerging tech like 6G.

°®¶¹´«Ã½ CyberHerd Takes 2nd & 3rd at Cybersecurity Competition
°®¶¹´«Ã½â€™s CyberHerd was formed by the College of Engineering's Department of Computer Science & Engineering. This was the team's first time at the summit and they achieved 2nd and 3rd place at the 2024 Aviation Information Sharing and Analysis Center (A-ISAC) Cybersecurity Summit.

Dr. Yucelen Recognized as Highly Ranked Scholar & Top Cited Scientist in 2024
Dr. Tansel Yucelen, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at (°®¶¹´«Ã½) was named a Highly Ranked Scholar by ScholarGPS, ranking third in Adaptive Control and 154th in Control Theory, and has also been recognized as one of the top 2% of the most cited scientists worldwide in Stanford/Elsevier's annual citation ranking.

°®¶¹´«Ã½ Receives $3 Million NSF Research Traineeship Award to Advance Semiconductor Research and Education
The University of South °®¶¹´«Ã½ (°®¶¹´«Ã½) has been awarded a $3 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) through its Research Traineeship (NRT) program. The five-year initiative, titled "NRT: Science, Technology, Engineering, Program for Upward Partnership (STEP-UP) for Advancing Microelectronics Education and Training," aims to advance semiconductor education and research while addressing the growing need for skilled professionals in the microelectronics industry.

Seven °®¶¹´«Ã½ Engineering Faculty Recognized with Outstanding Research Achievement Awards
Seven faculty members from the °®¶¹´«Ã½ College of Engineering were among 27 °®¶¹´«Ã½ faculty members recognized for their achievements. The honored faculty members represent various departments, including Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and the Center for Urban Transportation Research.
