BIOGRAPHY:
Jim Crotty is a global thought leader and subject matter expert in law enforcement, intelligence, transnational organized crime, and drug policy. He currently serves as Law Enforcement Outreach Manager at Meta Platforms, Inc., where he leads strategic engagement with law enforcement agencies across North America to address criminal activity online.

Prior to joining Meta, Jim led the Investigative Support Section at the DC Metropolitan Police Department, managing a real-time intelligence center focused on major crimes in Washington, D.C. He also spent two years at The Cohen Group, a strategic advisory firm founded by former Secretary of Defense William Cohen, where he advised clients in the defense, cybersecurity, healthcare, energy, and national security sectors.

Jim’s public service career includes over 12 years with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), serving in strategic, tactical, and operational positions both domestically and internationally. In his final DEA assignment, he was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant to the Administrator.

He is an Adjunct Professor at American University’s School of Public Affairs, teaching courses on Organized Crime and Drugs, Crime and Public Policy. He serves on the Advisory Board of United Against Fentanyl and is an active member of the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC) Network of Experts. He is a former Senior Fellow at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS) and a Presidential Management Fellow.

Jim holds a JD from the University of Alabama School of Law, an MA in Political Science from Boston College, and a BA in Political Science from Auburn University, summa cum laude.
