BIOGRAPHY:

Annie Killefer is a senior humanitarian professional with over 17 years of experience leading emergency response and stabilization efforts worldwide. Her career spans the full spectrum of humanitarian action—from frontline program delivery and inter-agency coordination to senior leadership roles with the U.S. Government and international donor institutions. Her work focuses on connecting operational realities with system-level strategy, informed by experience with NGOs, multilateral partners, and U.S. government agencies.

With USAID and international NGOs, Annie has managed large-scale humanitarian portfolios, directed complex responses, and led diverse teams in some of the world’s most challenging contexts. She has played key roles in emergencies in Syria, Iraq, South Sudan, Nepal, Ethiopia, Gaza, and Bangladesh, consistently advancing accountability and principled humanitarian action. She also served as a senior advisor to U.S. Central Command, where she helped shape whole-of-government approaches to humanitarian operations across the Middle East and Central Asia.

Annie holds a Master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University.
