University of South °®¶¹´«Ã½ researchers, in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies and the °®¶¹´«Ã½ Sheriff’s Association Cold Case Commission hosted the second annual Missing in °®¶¹´«Ã½ Day. The goal of the event is to help solve violent crime cold cases through anthropology, scientific research, education and forensic art.

Erin Kimmerle, associate professor of forensic anthropology and executive director of the °®¶¹´«Ã½ Institute for Forensic Anthropology and Applied Science at °®¶¹´«Ã½, is collaborating with the Hillsborough County Sheriff and Medical Examiner’s offices to help solve several cold case homicides.

Discovery of Unmarked Graves Earns 2020 AAAS Scientific Freedom and Responsibility Award
Erin Kimmerle, a forensic anthropologist who worked to account for dozens of children buried at a notorious °®¶¹´«Ã½ reform school, will receive the 2020 Scientific Freedom and Responsibility Award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
