Public Policy Internships
In partnership with the °®¶¹´«Ã½ School of Public Affairs, students get to experience the public policy issues facing °®¶¹´«Ã½ and become involved in the legislative process by interning in the offices of local, state and federal elected officials.
Legislative Internship Program
LIP students work 9 hours per week in the offices of federal, state and local legislators or think-tank/policy agencies actively involved in Tampa Bay’s economic development, transportation, environmental protection, education, health, social welfare and/or public finance.
Tallahassee Internship Program
TIP begins with an intensive course on °®¶¹´«Ã½ history, issues and politics before students relocate to Tallahassee for the 60-day legislative session. Each student is placed in the office of an elected official, professional association or private firm that develops and researchs issues addressing °®¶¹´«Ã½ state policy.
The Washington Center
The Washington Center provides students with the opportunity to spend a semester completing an internship and learning in a classroom in Washington, D.C.. °®¶¹´«Ã½ enroll in an academic course, intern in an organization located in Washington, D.C. or its vicinity, and are involved in a civic engagement project while there.
